McMullen Takes 1st at Lake Sinclair

Athens, AL......1/30/10......Willie McMullen from Oxford, GA is one step closer to the Bassmaster Classic with a 1st Place win and $2205.00 in the Toyota Tundra Bassmaster Weekend Series bass tournament held on Lake Sinclair.  McMullen’s only bass weighed in at 7.46 lbs. and was caught using a crawfish colored crank bait in 5ft-6ft of water. That same bass also netted McMullen the big bass award and an additional check for $230.00.

This was McMullen’s first Toyota Tundra Bassmaster Weekend Series event ever fished and although it was also a tough event, McMullen can’t wait to fish the Toyota Tundra Bassmaster Weekend Series event on Lake Lanier on March 13, 2010. 2nd Place Boater went to Michael York with a weight of 7.15 lbs; 3rd Place Boater was Chris Sanders with a weight of 7.04 lbs. Chris Moody took 1st Place on the Co-angler side with one bass that weighed in at 4.18 lbs and earned him a check for $1055.00 and also the big bass award with an additional check for $105.00. Moody caught his bass on a chartreuse crank bait casting toward the bank in shallow water. This was also Moody’s first Toyota Tundra Bassmaster Weekend Series event and it was a good experience. 2nd Place Co-angler was Albert McNair with a weight of 2.79 lbs. 3rd Place Co-angler was Dawson Whitmire with a weight of 2.70 lbs.

These anglers are acquiring valuable points to insure their birth in the Toyota tundra Bassmaster Weekend Series Championship which will be worth more than $680,000 in cash and prizes plus a slot in the Bassmaster Classic. The Toyota Tundra Bassmaster Weekend Series operated by American Bass Anglers is no only the stepping stone to the Bassmaster Classic but also the only bass tournament trail that guarantees $5,000 first place to the winner of each divisional event, based on a minimum of 100 boats, plus contingencies from Triton Boats and Mercury Marine of up to $5,000 per event.
