Mowery Takes 1st on Kissimmee

January 23, 2010 Athens, Alabama -  With his 1st place finish in the Toyota Tundra Bassmaster Weekend series tournament held on Lake Kissimmee, Todd Mowrey of Jacksonville, Fla is one step closer to a berth into the prestigious Bassmaster Classic. Mowrey's sight fishing tactics put a massive 5-fish limit of 33.90 pounds in his livewell and netted him $2.839.00. Mowrey relied on his Deep South fishing rods and a Zeta Bait Paca Craw to achieve his victory. Following Mowrey was Will Evans, who put another impressive bag of fish on the scales to take 2nd place with a weight of 27.42 pounds. Evans also took the big bass prize with a monster largemouth that weighed 10.13 lbs. Evans stated that his Power Pole was critical in his success for this tournament. The weights fell from there as Raymond Trudeau came in with 19.67 pounds to take 3rd place.

1st place honors on the co-angler side went to Micheal Press, who brought in 12.23 pounds. James Curtis took 2nd place on the co-angler side with 11.88 pounds. The co-angler big bass award also went to Curtis who anchored his bag with a 9.27 lb largemouth.

These anglers are compiling critical points to ensure their berth into the Toyota Tundra Bassmaster Weekend Series Championship, which will be worth more than $680.000 in cash and prizes and will include a slot into the Bassmaster Classic. While there are other stepping stones to the Bassmaster Classic, the Toyota Tundra Bassmaster Weekend Series operated by American Bass Anglers is the only tournament trail that guarantees a $5,000 first place payout (100 boat full field) to the winner of each divisional event with added contingencies from Triton Boats and Mercury Marine of $7.000 per event.
