Mike Brueggen Wins MN/WI Championship

With a total two day weight of 31.45 lbs, Mike Brueggen moves one step closer to a berth in the world famous Bassmasters Classic. Mike was a $5,000 winner on the boater side. He is a well known and winning angler in his home town area of LaCrosse WI. At age 27 Mike has already amassed over $35,000 in lifetime winnings.

This two day championship was held on the Missisissippi River Pools 3,4,5.

On Day 1 the Pool 5 lock was broken forcing anglers to fish mainly on Pool 4. His first Day weight of 15.19 lbs was impressive, yet he felt he needed to get to Pool 5 to win.

Luck prevailed and on Day 2 the lock was working and Mike found a fish on every spot he stopped on. He attributes his Day 2 weight of 16.26 lbs to Lethal Weapon Swim jigs and running hard to many areas holding fish in scattered weed beds.
