Wyatt Wins Divisional Championship on Watts Bar

Rockwood, TN...August 29-30, 2009...Tim Wyatt of Crossville, TN is one step closer to the Bassmaster Classic with his first place victory in the Tennessee East division earning $5,000 plus an extra $750 from Mercury and MotorGuide in the Toyota Tundra Bassmaster Weekend Series bass tournament held on Watts Bar Lake. Wyatt`s two day combined weight was 26.57 pounds.
Wyatt used every bit of his local knowledge to “junk fish” his way to victory in the Tennessee East Divisional Championship. Throughout the tournament he caught fish on topwater, flippin` crankin` and a number of other techniques. The winner remarked that he thought about 90 percent of the fish were suspended and in a transition phase which made the bite so tough for the anglers.
Boaters brought 174 fish to the scales with a total weight of 446.03 pounds: second – Michael Neal of Dayton, TN with 24.02; third – Rogie Brown of Hixson, TN with 22.62; fourth – Anthony Revis of Dayton, TN with 20.62; and fifth – Heath Pack of Mineral Bluff, GA with 20.12. Boater big bass award went to Gregg Crass of Oliver Springs, TN for catching a 7.13 pound largemouth.
The co-anglers brought 74 fish to the scales with a total weight of 188.83 pounds. Clint Harrison of Georgetown, TN took first on the co-angler side with a total weight of 12.48 pounds. Remaining top five co-anglers were: second – Creed Eldridge of Harrogate, TN with 11.71; third – Jonathan Cruver of Hixson, TN with 11.63; fourth – David Grantham of Knoxville, TN with 11.47; and fifth – Jack Brown of Ooltewah, TN with 10.18. Co-angler big bass award went to Creed Eldridge for catching a 5.83 pound largemouth.
Boater Anthony Revis of Dayton, TN and Co-angler Brandon Taylor of Franklin, KY ended the regular season as the points leaders which earned them an automatic berth into the National Championship on Lake Dardanelle, November 1-7, 2009.
This event concludes the 2009 regular season for the Tennessee East, Division 4 anglers. The top 40 anglers in accumulated points from both fields will now advance to the Regional held on Old Hickory Lake, Launching from Saunders Ferry Park in Hendersonville, TN on October 9-10, 2009.
